Ever wonder what campus life would be like without water? Students in Muse hall got to find out what that would be like earlier this week.
For those of you who didn't notice, there was a big hole in the ground in front of Muse. I stopped and talked with a few workers. I found out that a main water line broke, leaving Muse without water.
A maintenance worker said the broken pipe was caused by old age. He mentioned that it is a ten-inch diameter pipe and that this kind of thing doesn't happen very often.
As I was observing the repairs, a student yelled from the 4th floor at the men working below. "When are we gonna have water?" The maintenance worker replied, "In a few weeks.." The frustrated student replied, "That's not even funny!"
Presently, the problem is fixed, and residents of Muse are back to life as usual.

For all the work RU does around here with landscaping, they sure did leave such an ugly hole.

So why is the hole still uncovered? Anybody know?
